Chivas Regal became Arsenal’s first official whisky partner in 2024, a multi-year deal built around community, culture and shared success rather than straightforward sponsorship. The Drayton Park already had history with that partnership: it was one of the local pubs Chivas Regal used for a Highball giveaway when the deal first launched. For Arsenal’s end-of-season celebrations, the brands wanted to mark that connection somewhere supporters would actually see it, directly opposite Emirates Stadium, not a poster, not a banner, something that felt like it belonged on the building itself.
About the Project
The brief came from Momentum Worldwide. Oskar Illustration was commissioned to project manage and produce the installation of artist Me Old China’s mural, a piece built entirely from real supporter quotes and rendered in bold type across the brickwork. The idea of savouring the moment ran through the messaging, echoing the language Chivas Regal already uses for its whisky. They needed a print partner who could take a typographic design like that, scale it across an entire pub façade and get it up overnight. They called Wallace Print.

Brief & Constraints
The job was to wrap the upper façade of the Drayton Park pub, brickwork and windows, as one continuous piece of artwork. No visible joins. No breaks in the design where materials changed. Just a wall that looked like it had always been there.
The constraints were considerable:
- Installation heights above 7 metres
- 28.9 metres of façade, including a corner return
- Overnight-only working due to pedestrian safety
- A single overnight window: fully resourced from start to finish, with no option to return to site
- Removal within days of the install, with no damage to the wrapped surfaces
- Council permits and access equipment to arrange
- A fast-moving schedule from confirmed booking through to final artwork and install, with no margin for delay
How It Was Done
Wallace Print sent a team to site the evening the brief came in. They surveyed the full elevation, brickwork, windows, corner return, and built an accurate digital template. It was with Oskar Illustration the following morning so the artwork could be set to fit exactly.
Two materials were needed. Conformable brick wall vinyl with a matched protective laminate for the brickwork, chosen because it sits into the surface rather than bridging over it. Removable vinyl for the windows, so the glass could come back clean.
Everything was printed on Wallace Print’s 3.2-metre hybrid UV printer at full quality. Then came the installation.
Nine installers. Two teams. Two access machines running at the same time. The entire installation ran overnight, covering the full 28.9-metre run across brickwork and windows in a single planned window. The street had to reopen to pedestrians by morning, so the job was fully resourced and coordinated to complete within that one overnight session. The mural itself was built from real supporter quotes rendered in layered gold type across the brickwork – phrases like “this is community” and “always support arsenal fc” overlapping across the full elevation in Me Old China’s signature bold typographic style.

Not everything went to plan, and that is where experience showed. Partway up the building, a section of the artwork was hidden from certain angles by a drainpipe running down the façade. The team had an extra piece of branded vinyl ready, mounted onto Fomex board, and fitted it to the left of the pipe to close the gap. Fixing it in place, they found old iron nails sticking out of the wall, invisible on the original site survey. Small holes were cut into the board to seat the nails, with spare vinyl used to hide them. The client kept an eye on progress throughout and was pleased with how it had been handled.
Three days later, the same level of resource went into the removal. Access equipment, a full crew, careful technique.

Outcome & Impact
The pub became a landmark overnight. Supporters heading to the stadium walked past nearly 30 metres of bold typographic artwork and stopped to photograph it. Arsenal’s victory parade, led by an open-top bus, passed directly alongside the pub, putting the mural in view of the crowds lining the route. The earned coverage needed no paid seeding: Arsenal’s own Instagram posted the mural and it passed 45,000 likes, 282 reshares and 84 comments without any prompting. People were asking how it had been done.
The vinyl itself came down clean, exactly as planned. One section of the building’s white stonework did lose some paint in the process, later traced to interior-grade paint having been used on an exterior wall rather than masonry paint. Once identified, it was a straightforward fix and had nothing to do with how the print materials performed.

Why Print Did What Digital Could Not
You cannot put a digital ad on a building that Arsenal fans walk past every match day. You can put a 30-metre mural on one.
That is what made this work. The installation did not ask people to seek it out, it was just there, in the place they were already going, at exactly the right moment. The temporary nature of it helped too. Something that appears for a weekend and disappears by Monday gets noticed in a way that a permanent sign never does.
The earned social coverage was a bonus. No paid seeding required, the scale and craft of the piece did the work on its own.

Why Wallace Print
Projects like this go wrong when someone drops the ball between survey, production and install. Wallace Print owns the whole chain. They were on site the evening the brief arrived, had the template back the next morning and had permits, access equipment and nine installers coordinated before most agencies had finished the kickoff call.
The materials knowledge matters as much as the speed. Getting brick wall vinyl to sit flat across 30 metres of uneven brickwork, across a corner, at height, in one overnight window, that is not something you figure out on the job. It takes experience. The result showed it.
Client Testimonial
“Wallace Print were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We were in regular contact by phone and WhatsApp because the timings were so tight, and everyone had to move quickly while staying accurate through the pre-production phase. The overnight install was physically and mentally draining for the team, but not once did I hear anyone moan. Everyone stayed focused on getting the job done without mistakes.”
