The Dyer’s Caravan Park Roadside Banner

The Dyer’s Caravan Park Roadside Banner

When a television production company required a high-impact outdoor banner for Danny Dyer’s new Sky series, The Dyers’ Caravan Park, Wallace Print was commissioned to produce and install a large-scale promotional banner under tight time constraints.

The project involved printing and installing an oversized 40ft outdoor banner onto the side of a static trailer positioned near Kingsferry Bridge on the Isle of Sheppey. While the banner promoted Priory Hill & Nutts Farm Holiday Parks, the installation itself was captured during filming for the series, making timing, finish quality and on site coordination essential.

This was not simply a roadside banner. It was a live installation, completed during filming, and required to look right first time.

About the Project

The banner formed part of a summer promotional push to attract holidaymakers to the caravan park. While not directly tied to the launch date of the series, the installation became a visible moment within the show itself, with filming capturing Danny Dyer reacting to the completed advertisement.

The production company approached Wallace Print directly to deliver the banner. Due to non-disclosure agreements, much of the behind-the-scenes approval process cannot be publicly detailed. However, the project required sign-off and coordination at multiple levels before print could proceed.

Artwork was supplied by the client, featuring bold typography, high-resolution imagery and strong colour blocks designed for maximum roadside impact. Wallace Print’s role was to ensure that what appeared on screen translated effectively at 40ft wide in a real-world outdoor setting.

The Brief and Challenges

The brief was straightforward in principle but demanding in execution:

• Produce one oversized outdoor banner
• Print in full colour at large scale
• Install directly onto a static trailer
• Complete installation during filming
• Deliver quickly to meet production schedule

The banner needed to be visually striking from a distance. Positioned near the Kingsferry Bridge, the location experiences consistent vehicle traffic, meaning the scale and clarity of the graphics were critical.

Unlike standard commercial installations, this project carried an additional layer of scrutiny. The installation would be filmed. There would be no opportunity for extended on-site adjustments or multiple return visits. The banner needed to be printed accurately, transported carefully, and fixed cleanly in a single visit.

Production Approach

The banner was produced in-house using Wallace Print’s large-format print capabilities. As a single 40ft unit, the scale alone required careful handling from print through to transport. Printed on standard PVC banner material, the graphic was produced single-sided for direct mounting to the side of the trailer. The scale of the artwork meant image resolution, colour balance and visual clarity were checked thoroughly prior to print to ensure that close-up camera shots and distant roadside viewing would both perform well.

All artwork went through internal artwork setup and file checks to ensure correct sizing and output integrity before production commenced.

Speed was a key factor. The turnaround from approved artwork to installation had to align with filming schedules on location. Wallace Print’s in house production workflow allowed the job to be prioritised and completed within the required timeframe.

Installation During Filming

Installation took place on site in a farmer’s field near Kingsferry Bridge. The trailer was static, allowing the banner to be fixed directly to the trailer body rather than to a temporary frame.

Wallace Print’s in-house installation team carried out the work, completing the full install within a single day. Coordination was required to ensure installation aligned with filming activity, meaning the team worked efficiently while maintaining finish quality. Because the installation formed part of the filmed content, appearance mattered as much as structural security. The banner needed to sit flat, tension correctly, and present clean edges for the camera.

The result was a seamless installation that performed both as functional outdoor advertising and as a visible moment within the television programme itself.

Visibility and Impact

At approximately 40ft wide, the banner delivered a significant roadside presence. The bold messaging and recognisable personalities featured in the artwork ensured strong visual impact for drivers and passers-by. Installed during the summer period to attract holiday makers, the banner combined promotional value with television exposure. It functioned simultaneously as a real-world advertisement and as content within a nationally broadcast Sky series.

Projects like this highlight Wallace Print’s ability to deliver large-format outdoor print solutions that operate under public visibility and media scrutiny. From production accuracy to on-site execution, every stage must withstand close inspection.

Why Wallace Print

Projects connected to television production come with additional layers of coordination beyond standard print work. In this case, the banner itself was straightforward from a material perspective, but the surrounding process required patience, discretion, and alignment with filming schedules.

Wallace Print was required to work within production timelines and approval stages that extended beyond a typical commercial job. Sign off was needed before production could proceed, and following installation, we were required to wait until the programme had aired before publicly referencing the project. This meant respecting non-disclosure requirements while still delivering the work to the deadline on site.

Because the installation formed part of filmed content, timing could not slip. The banner needed to be printed, transported and installed exactly when required, with no opportunity for delay once cameras were in position. Managing this successfully relied on in house large format printing, controlled artwork setup and file checks, and an experienced installation team able to work efficiently on location.

The result was a project delivered on schedule, installed during filming, and only shared publicly once clearance was confirmed. For media-linked activations, that balance between speed, discretion and execution is critical.
