About The Project

Climate Action returned to Wallace Print for the Climate Innovation Forum 2026, the event that opens London Climate Action Week each June. The Forum ran on Monday 22 June at Guildhall in the City of London and brought together 2,500 delegates from business, policy and finance.

The programme ran across the whole building. The Main Stage sat in the Great Hall. Three parallel stages covered Nature, Finance, and Circularity and Zero Waste. Over thirty roundtables ran through the day in the Basinghall suites, partner events ran alongside, and a gala dinner closed the evening.

Guildhall is a working historic building rather than a purpose-built conference venue, and it does not come with a wayfinding system. For a delegate arriving at nine in the morning, the printed signage is the only thing telling them which room, which stage and which time.

As a returning client, Climate Action wanted to build on the 2025 requirements rather than start again. Wallace Print reviewed the previous year’s specifications and shared them as a working reference, so the team could decide what to repeat, what to change and what to add for 2026.

The Brief

Produce printed event and exhibition graphics across the stages, the partner events space and the delegate routes through the building, to a fixed event date, with a scope that was still developing during production.

  • Printed lectern panels for the Great Hall, and for the Nature, Finance, and Circularity and Zero Waste stages
  • Step and repeat backdrop for the partner events stage
  • Event signage for the partner events stage, produced as printed rigid signage
  • Printed free stadning banners across the event
  • Printed wayfinding and venue map signage, including floor plans, room names and event app details

The challenge was change. More branding opportunities became available as planning progressed. Items were added close to the deadline. Several pieces depended on partner and sponsor logos that arrived later than intended, because Climate Action was waiting on its own clients. Selected boards moved from single-sided to double-sided at short notice. The event date did not move.

Wayfinding at Scale

The map signage was the most demanding artwork on the job. A single board had to carry ground floor and lower ground floor plans, room names, stage locations, the event app QR code and the guest wifi details, and stay legible to someone reading it from two metres away while walking past.

Information-dense artwork like this is unforgiving. A wrong room name or a mislabelled floor is visible to every delegate, and it cannot be corrected once the doors open. Artwork was checked against the final venue plan before print rather than after.

Production and Delivery

Wallace Print was involved from the planning stage, before final artwork existed, advising on print deadlines and what could still be added as the schedule tightened. The team worked directly with Climate Action’s Operations Manager by telephone and email throughout.

Supplied artwork was reviewed and set up before print. Late sponsor logos were dropped into artwork as they arrived. Boards that changed from single-sided to double-sided were re-planned into the production schedule rather than dropped. Printing, cutting, finishing and packing were all handled on our own presses and cutting tables, which is what made those late changes absorbable.

The complete package was delivered to Guildhall over the weekend so that everything was on site for the Monday morning build.

The Outcome

Two and a half thousand delegates moved through Guildhall across a full day of Main Stage sessions, three parallel stages, roundtables, partner events and an evening gala dinner, navigating on printed signage throughout.

Every late addition was absorbed inside the original event date. No item was dropped from the specification and no deadline moved.

Why Wallace Print

Event print is judged on one thing above all others: whether the date holds. On this project the scope was still growing while production was underway, and the date could not move.

Wallace Print produces everything in-house, from artwork setup through large format digital printing and finishing to final delivery. There is no subcontractor schedule to renegotiate when a partner logo lands late or a board changes specification days before an event.

Involvement from the planning stage did the rest. Reviewing the previous year’s specifications gave Climate Action a practical starting point, and direct contact with the Operations Manager kept decisions moving as the scope grew.
