When we where approached by the cutting edge interior decorator Wesley Knight and his design agency Daley Graphics we knew it was going to involve something a little different from large format printing norm!
The challenge was to source a range of wooden veneers that could be digitally printed and then used to mount to different rigid substrates to create a series of authentic looking wooden panels that would be used in prestigious venues to display menus and information.
The wood veneer printing proved to be very successful on our Acuity UV flat bed with fine texts still looking crisp at the size required. We tested a range of wood veneers including oak, pine, beech, teak, mahogany, walnut and maple. The end results looked fantastic and the printed veneers mounted to the base substrates perfectly creating large rigid panels at a fraction of the cost of using solid wood.
As far as we are aware we are one of the first printers in the UK to print directly to wooden veneers, if you are looking at a project that requires printing on to wood, why not consider using a veneer and give us a call?
